Canon: Which lens should I buy after the kit lens 18-55mm?

After you buy your Canon DSLR with its kit lens 18-55mm, you would decide which lens I should buy? Or how can I upgrade my shooting performance?
The answer is simply the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens.

Several reasons why buying or upgrading to this lens:

1- The price is really cheap compared to its functionality as it might cost about 109 euro.

2- The lens shoots at very low light conditions with high quality results as you might expect. You can set the aperture at   f/1.8  compared to the kit lens  f/3.5-5.6 which is a really big difference!
The best thing in this lens's quality is that the image is really sharp.
When shooting with kit lens at low light you will notice that you get  horrible quality results
because you will have to set a higher ISO in which you get too much noise in your picture
unlike the 50mm lens that will result in a really high quality image that has no noise!

By now the difference should be clearer between both lenses in terms of quality at low light

DID YOU NOTICE THE ANNOYING NOISE WIH THE KIT LENS IN THE SKY?!

3- When shooting with kit lens you might figure that the blur in the background is not that much. However, when shooting with 50mm 1.8 lens the background of the image is completely blurred that you cannot figure out what behind the object you intended to shot.
Note: You can control the amount of blur by changing the aperture. Let's say you set the aperture f\22, you'll notice that the blur had completely disappeared and you get more depth of field.
That is to say, the more aperture the less blur.

You should have noticed the difference in the amount of blur between both lenses!

4- The size and the weight of the 50mm is incredible. The lens is very small and really light that you can feel it as a plastic toy. Due to this you can easily carry it with you wherever you go with your DSLR-Camera.

The lens has one problem that I faced which is that it does not have image stabilizer!
Now, I had mentioned some benefits of the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens which are really matter for most of the photographer especially for starter photographer and for portrait images.

After mentioning these benefits as price, high quality low light shooting, better blur, size and weight, DO you think it deserves to go for it?
YOU decide!!

PS, all picture in this article have been taken by me except the picture of the lens!

Enjoy it,

Canon developing two prime EF Cinema Lenses

TOKYO, August 30, 2012—Canon Inc. announced today plans to bolster its EF Cinema Lens lineup with two new prime models that are currently under development.

Canon first introduced EF Cinema Lenses in November 2011, positioning the all-new series of video cinematography lenses at the core of the company's Cinema EOS System of professional digital cinematography products. To date, Canon has launched 11 EF Cinema Lenses, the first of which went on sale in January 2012.

Both of the new prime lenses under development will support 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) production standards, with a level of resolution exceeding four times the resolution of Full HD, while offering compatibility with not only industry-standard-size Super 35 mm-equivalent sensors, but also 35 mm full-frame, APS-H-size and APS-C-size sensors. While details regarding specifications and pricing have yet to be determined, Canon aims to launch the two new lenses in the first half of 2013.

Canon will exhibit the lenses from September 7 to 11 at IBC2012, Europe's largest professional broadcast show, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Canon will continue to enhance its Cinema EOS System product lineup to support diverse imaging creation in the motion-picture and other digital high-resolution production industries, contributing to further expanding the possibilities in visual expression and the development of cinematic culture.

New Canon Lens!

This redesigned EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Zoom Lens from Canon ups the ante for optical performance for a professional standard zoom lens. It has one Super UD lens element and two UD lens elements that minimize chromatic aberration in the periphery at wide-angle, as well as reducing color blurring around the edges of the subject. In addition, two types of aspherical lenses are combined to help reduce spherical aberration over the entire image area, as well as through the full zoom range. Optimized lens coatings help ensure exceptional color balance while minimizing ghosting.

A ring-type USM and high-speed CPU with optimized AF algorithms ensure silent, fast autofocusing. The lens is constructed with improved dust sealing and water resistance, while fluorine coatings on the front and rear lens reduce fingerprints and smearing. A circular 9-blade diaphragm gives beautiful, soft backgrounds. A zoom lock lever locks the zoom position at the wide end for safe transporting while attached to an EOS DSLR camera over the shoulder.
